The Farewells Clicker demo (Steam app 4437930) went live on 19 February 2026 and returned for Steam Next Fest in June. Two public notes from that era still matter after the 17 August 2026 launch: Patch 0.6.0 — NEXT FEST and Patch 0.6.2 — BUG FIXES & STABILITY. This page keeps them in one place so you can tell a leftover demo memory from a 1.0 feature. The launch list itself is on Patch 1.0.
A third Steam post, “Next Fest Broadcast — IdleCub,” is a pointer to a creator discovering the demo on YouTube and Twitch. It is not a changelog. We do not embed a video unless we can verify a real YouTube id.
Patch 0.6.0 — what Next Fest added
New buildings:
- Guild Hall — automatically clicks around itself.
- Cottage — places tree and wheat fields around itself instead of producing.
- Watch tower — claims a huge chunk of land when placed. Does nothing else.
Chest events:
- Whack-A-Mole — moles appear everywhere for 30 seconds. Whack as many as possible.
- Tempest — destroys all buildings but you earn their gift a second time.
- Cloning — buildings have a chance to clone themselves when placed.
Skill tree:
- Chest Discovery — chance to discover new chests when claiming tiles.
Features:
- Detailed mode — Left Alt or a toggle in the bottom-left corner for more hover information.
Accessibility and settings:
- Display mode dropdown.
- Resolution dropdown.
- Language dropdown.
- Homemade translations for English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Russian, Korean, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese, with a request for community corrections.
Balancing:
- Auto-click speed buffed for people who do not like to click.
Bug fixes:
- Placing a building now counts in quest progression.
- UI display on ultrawide monitors.
- Quests validate retroactively.
Those bullets are why How to Play, How to Expand Your Island, chest events, and Controls and Settings exist. The demo community had already asked for range visibility, richer tooltips, resolution options, and quests that counted. 0.6.0 is the answer note.
Patch 0.6.2 — what still bites if it regresses
Fixed:
- “Click on the building” tutorial could validate without an actual click.
- Clicking a demo-locked skill node played two sounds at once.
- Building cost could be wrong after the Storm event.
- Buildings could be placed without enough money after Storm.
- End-of-run recap could be messed up after Storm.
- More ultrawide UI cases.
Minor:
- Wishlist button in the escape menu (a demo-period store hook).
If your 1.0 copy shows illegal prices after Tempest, or a recap that looks corrupted, you are looking at the same family of bugs 0.6.2 tried to kill. Stop spending, screenshot, and report. Do not farewell on a broken recap. See How to Farewell.
Community reports that sat around these patches
Steam discussions from the demo period included a “place 3 towers” quest that did not progress, a second quarry that did not register, a volume slider that jumped to 100%, and a 5120x1440 player who wanted 2560x1440 with no resolution setting. 0.6.0 and 0.6.2 address the quest, ultrawide, and settings pieces. Volume is listed as a Steam feature on the 1.0 page; if the slider still misbehaves, treat it as a live bug, not as intended design.
Players also asked for range previews on already-placed buildings and tooltips that list upgrades, not only base income. Detailed mode is the shipped response. If a range still looks faint, that can still be a UI limit.
What to ignore from demo culture
Anything that says a building is permanently locked. 1.0 unlocked the late set. Anything that says there is no language menu. 0.6.0 added one. Anything that says ultrawide is hopeless. Two patches worked on it. Anything that treats IdleCub’s broadcast as a secret strategy bible. It was a discovery stream.
How these notes change 1.0 strategy
You should still place Guild Hall, Cottage, and Watch tower the way 0.6.0 describes. You should still fear Tempest. You should still turn on Detailed mode. You should still use the resolution dropdown on ultrawide. Then you layer 1.0’s Manor, Castle, Portal, Multi Claim, and Creative Mode on top. The Updates Hub is the index; this page is the demo half.
If you never played the demo, you can skip the drama and only skim the building and chest names. If you played in February, read 0.6.2 before you assume the Storm recap is trustworthy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Farewells Clicker questions.
Do I need to read demo patches if I only own 1.0?
Skim them. Guild Hall, Cottage, Watch tower, chests, and Detailed mode all come from 0.6.0 and are still how the game plays.
Was the second quarry bug fixed?
0.6.0 made placements count and made quests validate retroactively. If 1.0 still skips a quarry, report it.
What is the IdleCub post?
A Steam news item pointing at IdleCub’s Next Fest demo broadcast on YouTube and Twitch. It is not a patch list.
Which patch added languages?
0.6.0 added the language dropdown and the first homemade localization pack.
