This tier list ranks Farewells Clicker buildings for a normal 1.0 campaign island, not for Creative Mode sculpture. The question is “what should I place when I have one good pocket left?” not “what looks nicest on a cliff.” Criteria: does the building open a synergy, remove a bottleneck, or only spend a tile? Official roles come from the 0.6.0 and 1.0 notes. We do not invent damage numbers. Compare this page with Building Synergies and the building list.
Ranks will move after a late-game balance patch. Team Square said 1.0 attention went to the late game. Check the Updates Hub if a month has passed.
S tier — opens the economy
Quarry — “A lot of stones depending on the rocks around it” is the clearest amplifier in the game. A well-seated quarry is the difference between placing one Tower and placing a landmark line.
Lumbermill — The wood version of the same idea. It needs trees, which means it needs a Cottage or a lucky forest. When those trees exist, the mill is S. When they do not, the mill is a trap and drops to C until you seed.
Manor (in a group) — Coins that scale with other manors are the late-game payroll for Castle banquet/totem costs. One manor is B. Three manors are S.
Cottage — It produces nothing and still belongs in S because it creates the fields other S buildings eat. People who skip it and wonder why the lumbermill is sad are reading the tooltip backwards.
A tier — removes a human bottleneck
Guild Hall — Auto-clicks around itself. Turns a clicker into a city builder for your hands. Best in a dense cluster.
Watch tower — Claims a huge chunk of land and does nothing else. A-tier when space is the wall. D-tier when you place it for vibes.
Rock / Obsidian — Fuel tiles. They are A because every quarry plan dies without them. Obsidian is the SUPER rock; spend it in the cluster you will actually amplify.
Castle — Stars plus SUPER click propagation. A-tier once an industry exists for clicks to spread through. Early Castle on a bare island is a vanity project.
B tier — important, easy to mistime
Tower — A lot of stars, no production, stone banquet/totem. Buy the stars when the skill tree is the wall. Placing it instead of a second quarry is how people stall.
Single Manor — A seed, not an engine. Place it only if the next two manors are coming.
Windmill — Officially underspecified except for a range node. B until your tooltip proves it is carrying a farm. Do not take Windmill range before you have one.
C tier — campaign finishers and toys
Portal — Ultimate, unexplained in the public note. C for planning because you cannot schedule a mystery. When you unlock it, hover it and it may jump to S for that save.
Banquet / Totem — Sinks attached to Tower and Castle. C until the landmark is already working.
F tier — common misplays, not bad art
An isolated quarry, a Watch tower in your only rock field, a Guild Hall on empty grass, and a Castle with nothing to propagate into are F placements of otherwise good buildings. The tier list is about jobs. A building doing the wrong job is F until you move it.
How to use the list in a session
- If you have no amplifier, place S fuel then S industry.
- If your hand hurts, place A Guild Hall.
- If you have no pocket, place A Watch tower, then go back to S.
- If the tree is dry, place B Tower or A Castle.
- If a chest is Cloning, copy an S amplifier. If it is Tempest, read chest events before you agree to flatten the list.
Creative Mode is the place to ignore this ranking and build a pretty harbor. Campaign mode is the place to respect it. How to Farewell if you want a new island instead of arguing with a C-tier Portal plan.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Farewells Clicker questions.
Why is Cottage S-tier if it produces nothing?
It spawns the trees and wheat that lumber and food lines eat. Without it, the lumbermill has nothing to amplify.
Why is Portal only C?
The 1.0 note does not explain it. We refuse to invent a walkthrough. Your tooltip can promote it.
Is this a PvP tier list?
No. Farewells Clicker is single-player. Ranks are for campaign bottlenecks.
Will these tiers change?
Yes, if a later patch retunes late-game buildings. Follow the Updates Hub.
